About the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR)

Since its founding in 1890, the Daughters of the American Revolution have admitted more than 1,000,000 members.

DAR is a nonprofit, nonpolitical volunteer women’s service organization dedicated to promoting patriotism, preserving American history and securing America’s future through better education. At the heart of the organization is a membership of over 190,000 members in 3,000 chapters across the world. Daughters are vibrant, active women who are passionate about community service, preserving history, educating children, as well as honoring and supporting those who serve our nation.

Located in our nation's capital, just two blocks from the White House, DAR National Headquarters occupies a full city block and ranks as one of the largest buildings of its kind owned and maintained exclusively by women.
